In 1976 Gary Hawkins began developing commercial real estate
under the name of Hawkins & Associates. For thirty years Gary and
a variety of partners have focused primarily on retail shopping center development. For fifteen years he developed under the Hawkins-Smith name until Steve Smith retired. The majority of Gary’s partners and employees now currently operate under the name of Hawkins Companies. Hawkins Companies and its predecessors have developed over 180 projects in 22 states in excess of 8.5 million square feet of commercial retail space.

Hawkins Companies’ services include the identification and acquisition of sites, pre-development, construction, finance and on-going property management. Through our brokerage and leasing divisions, we have leased and/or sold properties for over 200 clients.
