Ready, Set, Rake!

By Clark Brenisholtz | November 3, 2017

Hawkins Companies has been a part of the fabric of Boise for more than forty years. In that time we’ve been blessed with the rich outdoor experience that comes from being residents of the Treasure Valley. Our families soak in the gifts of the seasons, and enjoy our close proximity to nature. Making fresh tracks at Bogus, hiking/biking the quiet trails of Hulls Gulch, or water-skiing Lucky Peak are all close enough to be achievable goals, even on a work day. Still, sometimes Mother Nature gives a little too much. For some Boise residents, Fall can be just such a time.

For 29 years Rake Up Boise has been marshaling the efforts of some 7000 volunteers with the focused goal of helping residents keep pace in our “City of Trees.” Hawkins Company employees are proud to have volunteered for that effort since 2008.

Our volunteers understand that not everyone has the ability to tame what can be a Fall flurry of leaves. We genuinely believe that the donations of our time and labor toward Rake Up Boise is essential to maintaining the Spirit of Boise. Simply put, it’s the right thing to do.

Year after year, our volunteers’ contribution of time and labor is met with tears of joy and heartfelt thanks from the recipients of our efforts. It’s good people helping good people, and we believe that’s what Boise is all about.

This Fall, we encourage you to reach out to Rake Up Boise. We’re proud to participate, and believe you will be too.
