In 2007, Hawkins Companies constructed its new corporate headquarters within four separate buildings located in the historic warehouse district of downtown Boise. These warehouse buildings were built between 1910 and 1928. Through the renovation of these buildings, Hawkins Companies created a modern office setting while successfully preserving and maintaining the historical elements of the existing architecture. By exposing the wood ceiling and beams, the original concrete walls, and incorporating sustainable materials for healthy indoor air quality, Hawkins Companies created a stylish working environment that lets the past shine through.
The result was a modernized office space in which the Hawkins Companies employees can work and thrive for many years to come. The task was monumental and was accomplished in the face of a complex floor design located above some unique tenants. Hawkins Companies’ success with this renovation demonstrates its ability to tackle the unique characteristics of a real estate asset to maximize value while meeting demands of diverse tenants.
