At HAWKINS, we believe that doing good work goes hand in hand with doing good in our communities. For over five decades, the Hawkins family and our team have built and managed properties in a way that balances strong financial sense with meaningful social responsibility. Our mission isn’t just about developing real estate—it’s about enhancing the neighborhoods where people live, learn, work, and play.
Whether it’s building homes, schools, or business spaces—or thoughtfully managing those properties so they strengthen the fabric of a neighborhood—our commitment is always to have positive, lasting impact.
But our commitment to community goes beyond real estate. Over the years, our team has volunteered with food banks, women’s and children’s shelters, school lunch programs, and even medical missions abroad. It’s part of how we live our values of fairness, humility, and reputation in service to others.
This fall in Boise, several members of our team and their families took part in Rake Up Boise — an annual event organized by NeighborWorks Boise, where volunteers rake yards for neighbors who are senior citizens, veterans or disabled individuals and may struggle to do the work themselves.
Thanks to this tradition, thousands of volunteers gather across the Treasure Valley each November to lend a hand. NeighborWorks Boise describes it as “more than leaf cleanup—it’s a 40‑year tradition of neighbors helping neighbors and one of the Northwest’s largest, most beloved volunteer events.”
This year our teams helped two homes and filled some 40 bags of leaves. It was a tangible way of supporting our community and reinforcing the idea that strong neighborhoods are built through shared effort.
We’re proud of our team for stepping up and showing what’s possible when businesses, families and volunteers unite behind a common good. The great people of HAWKINS not only make our business stronger—they make our communities stronger, too.
Thank you to everyone who participated this year and continues to help us live out our purpose of service and community enhancement.
